Former Miss India World Pooja Chopra, who is all set to make her acting debut in Vipul Shah’s ‘Commando’, has notched up another achievement. The model-turned-actress will be featuring in the BBC World Documentary based on the women of India. The documentary will cover the lives of women who have achieved success after life-long struggle, and will feature victims of acid attacks, domestic abuse, abandonment etc.
Behind Pooja Chopra’s fame and success, lies the relentless struggle faced by her mother, Neera Chopra. Neera was a mother of two daughters, bound in an abusive relationship with her husband. Despite having no support system, Neera decided to walk out of the marriage and slug it out to look after her girls.
The BBC documentary will trace Pooja’s journey and her mother’s invaluable contribution.
