After weeks of speculation and hard hitting competition, Andhra boy Sreeram Chandra has won the prized and much valued title of this year’s ‘Indian Idol’. He was declared the winner of the ‘Indian Idol 5’ at yesterday’s finale.
Sreeram outweighed Gujju Bhoomi Trivedi and Agra boy Rakesh Maini at the grand finale and has made his state proud.
Sreeram had been one of the favorites from the very beginning of the show and was appreciated time and again by all the three judges for his perfect flexible singing. Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan felicitated him and declared him the winner over national TV.
This twenty-five-year-old lad has won a lot of things. He has won Rs 50 lakh cash prize, a car, and a motorbike, a contract for one-year with Sony TV and a probability to sing in one of the upcoming movies of Yashraj Films. Singing in a movie that’s released under the banner of Yashraj Films is indeed a very big thing.
Sreeram, who has already recorded a song with popular Bollywood playback singer Shreya Ghoshal for an upcoming movie, thanked everyone who had wished him success and also had voted for him. The finale was indeed an awesome event and Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor were present too.
