krantiveer film 475x296“Krantiveer – The Revolution”, a sequel to Mehul Kumar’s 1994 “Krantiveer”, has been pushed back by two weeks for a June 25 release from its scheduled date of June 13 due to technical reasons.

“We needed more time for publicity and marketing and that’s the reason we have pushed the film ahead by two weeks,” Kumar, who has directed the sequel, said in a statement.

“We are not in competition with any of the bigger films, but we preferred a gap instead of coming at the tailend of a bigger movie,” added Kumar.

“Krantiveer – The Revolution” is preceded by big budget outings like “Raajneeti” and “Raavan” on June 4 and June 18 respectively.

The original 1994 “Krantiveer” starred Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia and both reprise their roles in the sequel.

The film also itroduces Kumar’s daughter Jahan Baloch in the role of Nana Patekar’s fiery daughter. She plays a journalist who raises her voice against terrorism, violence and corruption.

Also starring in the movie are Ranjeet, Farida Jalal, Govind Namdeo, Mukesh Tiwari and Aman Verma.
