The only thing which Indian Audience looks in a Bollywood Film is Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment. Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta proves everyone wrong once again as their film Shootout At Wadala’s opening day collection crossed 10 Crores in India itself. Despite of Action, Sex and Voilence, Shootout At Wadala’s collection from UAE is 900,000 Dirhams in just two days where Bombay Talkies which was claimed to be a tribute to 100 years of Indian Cinema opened up to poor figures and did not exceed for more than 1.25 Crores in India.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan said “As expected right from inception, Shootout At Wadala was supposed to be a film for masses which it turned out to be. The item numbers (By Sunny Leone and Priyanka Chopra) too boosted the opening numbers.”
Souces claimed they saw audiences hooting and whistling on action scenes and punch lines spoken in the film by John Abraham and Anil Kapoor. This was witnessed after a long gap from Ek Tha Tiger in cinema halls. Speaking further on Bombay Talkies, Atul adds “As far as Bombay Talkies is concerned, Such films are strictly for multiples and “A” class centers. These kind of films need strong word of mouth to grow. You can’t expect big numbers immediately. This week we had both films targeting all cine-goers, From class to mass.”
Shootout At Wadala opened up at 11th Position in UK, Despite of British Censor ratings of 18. And grossed US$ 55,000 in USA on it’s first day.
