The Remake Of Sadma Was To Star Kareena In Sridevi’s Role

Yesteryear classic movie, Sadma, starring Sridevi and Kamal Hassan, will the remade. The original flick was a high emotional drama in which Sridevi loses her memory and becomes childlike after an accident. Kamal Hassan plays the role of caretaker but Sridevi regains her memory in the climax only to forget him. Both the actors were critically acclaimed for their brilliant performances. Hence, the buzz about the actors in the much-awaited remake is high.

Earlier, it was being said that Kareena Kapoor Khan was supposed to be portraying the role of Sridevi. However, now since the actress is pregnant and the movie will be going floors soon, the makers are contemplating about replacing Kareena. Sources say that Alia Bhatt is being considered for the role. The Udta Punjab actress is now in demand after stellar acting in Anurag Kashyap’s hard-hitting drama.

Alia Bhatt Steps Into Her Shoes

Though Kareena may be able to work even while being in her second trimester, the makers feel that the character is a tough and emotionally draining one. Hence Alia Bhatt would be essaying the role. However, we hear that the work calendar of Alia is pretty full now with movies like Dear Zindagi, Dragon, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Plus, the male lead of the film too has not been fixed as of now.
