After award-winning movies like Maqbool, Omkara and the recent Haider, Vishal Bhardwaj now has his gaze set on his next much-awaited flick Rangoon. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of India’s struggle for independence, stars Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. The film was originally slated to release on October 14th this year. Though the shooting of the movie was wrapped up earlier this year, the makers have pushed the release date to February 24, 2017. While the audiences are upset by this unexpected delay, it looks like the stars of the film are quite relieved!

As per sources, the trio of the film is happy due to their own personal reasons. As we all know, Shahid Kapoor is going to step into parenthood soon. His wife Mira Rajput is expected to deliver their first child sometime in September this year. If the movie would have released in October, Sasha would not have been able to spend quality time with his family due to his work commitments.

Similar is the case with the Race actor, Saif Ali Khan, who will soon be off with his dearest wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, on her babymoon. The couple will be welcoming their first child in December and they want to have their baby away from the limelight. Queen actress Kangana Ranaut is happy because she considers the month of February to be lucky for her since Tanu Weds Manu had also released in the same month in 2011.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj considers Rangoon to be really close to his heart and hence he does not want to hurry with such a cherished project. Moreover, since Shahid will be celebrating his birthday on the 25th of February, it is all the more better. Vishal, who has earlier directed Kapoor in acclaimed movies like Kaminey and Haider, shares a great rapport with the actor.
