After being a known face for quite some time now, Shweta Basu Prasad makes her come back in the television world and this time, she will be seen playing the role of Nandini, Chandragupta Maurya’s wife.

Shweta Basu Prasad, the actress who has been quite a known face to the people in the industry as well as to a large number of audience, is back once again and this time, she is not here to play some of the typical serials that she has portrayed in the past. This time, Shweta Basu Prasad will be playing the role of Nandini, who happens to be Chandragupta Maurya’s wife in the serial named Chandra Nandini, which on the prima facie appears to be the story between Chandragupta Maurya and Nandini.

Actress Returns With A New Role

The award-winning actress states that it is one of the best time to be in the industry with a great variety of roles coming up for the actors every single day. The actress has previously been part of serials like Karishma Kaa Karishma, Kutumb and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Apart from the television roles that has made her a household face, she has also been a part of the large screen. For the very first movie that she has been a part of, had earned her with a National Film Award for the Best Child Artist.She had won the award for her stunning double performance in the movie Makdee.

The actress has last featured in two episodes of the serial Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, which was aired last year. However, she says that she has refrained from doing television soaps for some time now and the reason behind the same according to her is the fact that she was busy in her academic career. Apart from that, she says that she has not been able to receive anything that did excite her too much.

The serial will be aired on Star Plus, from 10th October 2016.
