Cocktail actress Diana Penty is currently gearing up for a comeback in Mudassar Aziz’s romantic-comedy Happy Bhag Jayegi. Produced by Anand L. Rai and Krishika Lulla, the music of the film is composed by Sohail Sen, who has earlier given music for movies like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Gunday. The composer has done a wonderful job with the songs of Happy Bhag Jayegi as well; all the tracks speak about the premise of the film.
The music album of Happy Bhag Jayegi begins with the peppy title track Happy Oye, sung by the very talented Harshdeep Kaur. The lyrics effortlessly describe the protagonist and Shahid Mallya has provided the backing vocals quite well. Don’t miss out on the amazing bagpipe interlude. The next song is Gabru Ready To Mingle Hai, crooned by Mika Singh, Neeti Mohan, Tarannum Malik, and Danish Sabri. This is the typical Punjabi wedding song of the album and it remains at just that till the end. Mika does his usual job while the composition is mediocre.
Altamash Faridi has lent his voice to Aashiq Tera, which speaks of love and longing. With a strong Sufi influence and an amazing collaboration of the qawwali beats and the tabla, this is the best of the lot. Zara Si Dosti is the typical Arijit Singh number. The melody is hummable but nothing outstanding; Arijit has clearly done better earlier. Though the lyrics of the last track, Yaaram are quite plain, Javed Ali brings out the soulfulness of the song with his soothing voice.
All in all, music review of Happy Bhag Jayegi is refreshing and adds to the fun element of the film. The movie, which also stars Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal in lead roles, speaks about a runaway bride who accidentally crosses the border and lands up in Pakistan. Happy Bhag Jayegi is all set for a worldwide release on the 19th of August.
