Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away aged 70


Veteran actor and BJP Lok sabha member Vinod Khanna passed away at the age of 70. The actor was battling from advanced bladder carcinoma and was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. Vinod breathed his last at 11:20 AM. Some of his notable works include Mere Apne, Gaddar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Rajput, Qurbani, Jurm and Kudrat.

Earlier a photo of Vinod Khanna was circulated on the social media in which he was seeing in a very frail condition which initially fires up a huge attention of his fans and many renowned celebrities of B-town towards his health. However, his family members confirmed that he is recovering in a rapid form.

Vinod Khanna was born up on 6th of October 1946 in Gurdaspur a district of Punjab. With a spanning career in the film industry, he has done 141 movies in almost a four-decade career.

He made his debut with Man Ka Meet released in the year 1968 and achieved a number of awards and accolades for Best supporting actor in Haat Ki Safai. He was awarded Film fare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. During heights of his career in 1982, Vinod suddenly took a break from the industry and becomes a follower of spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh. He then made a comeback after five years and gave super hit films including Dayavan and Insaaf.

Khanna elected as a member of parliament from BJP’ side in 1997 and in 2002 he became Union Minister for Culture and Tourism.

Many Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Virender Sehwag expressed their grief on the sudden demise of Vinod Khanna through their twitter account.
