Bollywood is currently facing a state of tension after the Uri attacks. Right after the unfortunate incident took place, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena declared that all Pakistani actors and artists need to leave the country within a deadline of 48 hours. Not only this, they also threatened to ban the release of movies like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees, which has Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan respectively. Following this, filmmaker Karan Johar had to increase police protection outside his residence and office. However, there has been a recent development in the case.
Fawad Khan Makes A Statement In Support Of Pakistan
According to reports, Fawad Khan has made an official statement supporting Pakistan and its terrorist activities. He has said that Pakistan will always remain his first love. This has outraged MNS chief, Raj Thackeray. He has sworn that he will not let Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees release in the country. He has gone on record to say that Bollywood producers and directors are more at fault than Pakistani artists. They offer work to such artists and that’s why they should be punished by banning their movies. The MNS has asked the movie theatres to not release these two movies in particular.
Raj Thackeray Believes That Indian Filmmakers Are More At Fault
Thackeray also slammed Fawad Khan for speaking for his country. He says that Fawad Khan decides to stand by Pakistan, irrespective of its terrorist activities, and then expects to work in this country. And then filmmakers provide him with work and stand by his statement. This indirectly implies that they too are standing in support of Pakistan. Apparently, the political party also threatened Karan Johar and Rahul Dholakia to remove the parts of Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees respectively.
