Zoya Akhtar And Ranveer Singh To Work Together

Zoya, who has earlier directed films like Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Dil Dhadakne Do, has now roped in the Band Baaja Baraat actor for her next directorial venture. Sources say that the film revolves around the novel concept of a rapper. Ranveer, who will play a rapper, will rise from the streets of Mumbai and become a renowned name.

Reports say that the film is titled Gully Boy, although it is a tentative title. The movie is inspired by famous rappers like Divine and Naezy, who have spoken about the raging crimes in the city as well becoming activists. The Movie, Titled Gully Boy, Will Be Based On A Rapper

Just how much of Mumbai’s talent rises from Dharavi, Ranveer’s character in the film will too belong to that area. Though the actor has previously rapped in advertisements, it will be exciting to watch him showcase his talent on the silver screen. Reports say that the actor will start shooting for this flick after the release of Bekire, which is scheduled to hit theatres on the 9th of December.

The actor also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next period drama in his kitty. Apparently, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor will be starring with him in Padmavati, though any official confirmation is yet to be made.
