Khiladi Akshay Kumar is currently on a high after the success of his last venture, Rustom. The movie, which released last Friday, clashed with another big budget flick, Mohenjo Daro. But Akshay’s Rustom stole the show, in spite of the fact that it was allotted a lesser number of screens as compared to its competitor. In fact, it has grabbed the spot of the second highest grossing film of 2016, after Salman’s Sultan. Though Rustom was not an official biopic, but it was largely based on the sensational Nanavati case. Now it looks like all Akki fans can celebrate because Akshay can be seen in another biopic, based on the life of late Shiv Sena founder, Balasaheb Thackery!
Bal Thackery Biopic To Feature Akshay Kumar
As per reports, Thackeray’s grandson Rahul and his daughter-in-law Smita Thackeray are considering the idea of making a grand biopic on the late leader. Among all the actors, it is said that Akshay’s name has come up to essay the role of the controversial political figure. So, at a recent conversation, when the Housefull actor was questioned about whether he would like to be a part of the film or not, he said that he’s not sure if he would suit the legendary character or not. In fact, first the makers need to be sure that he fits the bill. He said that he had apprehensions answering the question since the personality in question is hugely looked up to.
About the recent trend of biopics, the Airlift star said that they are a great way of bringing a person’s story to the forefront. And with the reaction of the audiences, it is clear that biopics work in India. When quizzed about the success of Rustom, he said that he is glad that the viewers are giving it so much love. On the work front, the actor will next be seen in Jolly LLB 2, Neeraj Pandey’s Crack, and the official sequel of Rajinikanth’s Robot.
