A Decent Opening Weekend Collection Predicted For Great Grand Masti

The third installment of the popular Masti series is all set to hit the silver screens tomorrow. The Masti boys, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani are back for their share of fun; this time, they are joined by Urvashi Rautela. While Masti became a milestone in the field of adult comedies, Grand Masti surpassed its level of expectation by earning four times of its budget and becoming the only A rated movie to enter the prestigious 100 crore club! However, since the censored copy of Great Grand Masti leaked online a week earlier, the makers have now preponed the release of the movie. The film will now be releasing tomorrow, i.e. the 15th of July instead of the 22nd of July and is expected, to begin with a decent start at the ticket windows.

Milap Zaveri, who had the written the wacky dialogues of Grand Masti, has donned the director’s hat for the third offering of the series. By promoting the movie as a horror sex comedy, the makers have tried to give a whole new dimension to it. But sadly, the leak of the movie has now lessened its chances to attain the same heights that its predecessors did. Because of the preponement of the release, producers Ekta Kapoor and Ashok Thakeria met YRF Head, Aditya Chopra. Though YRF had a contract with maximum theaters for their recent release, Sultan, Aditya was generous enough to share some screens with GGM.

Great Grand Masti will now release in approximately 1500 screens nationwide. Being A certified, the movie is aimed at the youth section of the audience, though many of them might have already viewed the pirated version. Being a solo release and considering the fact that Masti is a cult series, GGM is predicted to have 30% occupancy on the opening weekend. The opening day collection is estimated to be around Rs 7-9 crores.
