Producer Indra Kumar has dished out the third instalment of the Masti series today. The film, titled Great Grand Masti is the sequel of Grand Masti and stars the Masti boys, along with Urvashi Rautela. The movie had already had to face a number of controversies, including an internet leak after which the release date was preponed by a week. Sadly, the film’s fate is not a bright one as the audiences are clearly not liking this sad and disgusting attempt at making a sex horror comedy film.
The movie begins with the same plot as the earlier films – the three sex-starved husbands are utterly frustrated of their boring wives who they refer to as ‘ghar ki dal’. Meanwhile, Amar (Riteish Deshmukh) has a bungalow to sell in a village named Doodhwadi. His friends, Prem (Aftab Shivdasani) and Meet (Vivek Oberoi) decide to accompany him to the ancient bungalow. The boys don’t know that they are in for a surprise as the ghost of Raagini (Urvashi Rautela), a girl who died a virgin, currently calls the bungalow her house!
Considering the movie we are discussing, the ghost (bahar ki biryani) is obviously super-hot and has an array of fashion designers and makeup artists at her service, considering the fact that she struts around throughout the film in designer evening gowns with her hair perfectly curled. The boys are out for some Masti but Raagini has other intentions. Needless to say, neither can the film boast of a logical plot, nor any noteworthy acting.
With repetitive, crass and vulgar jokes, Great Grand Masti is drab and fails to entertain the audiences. Though the music of the film is somewhat catchy, the series loses the initial charm of its first offering. Watch the movie only if you have nothing better to do this weekend. And yes, let’s collectively hope that the makers decide to end the series right here!
