It Was Not Sidharth And Katrina Originally For Baar Baar Dekho

Karan Johar’s Baar Baar Dekho is currently the talk of the town. The film, which is slated to release on the 9th of September, is making headlines for its catchy music and interesting theatrical trailer. More so, the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair, Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif, is being loved by the audiences. But we recently learned something about the upcoming love story that surprised us. Apparently, Sidharth and Katrina were not the original choices for the film. The makers wanted Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone to play the lead characters of the film!

Reports say that Baar Baar Dekho, directed by Nitya Mehra, was first offered to the PK actor Aamir Khan. But due to monetary conflicts, Aamir rejected the project which then went to the Krrish actor, Hrithik Roshan. Duggu was somehow not convinced by the script and gave it a thumbs-down and that’s how Sidharth came on board. The Hasee Toh Phasee actor loved the script and instantly gave his nod!

Interestingly, it is not the first time that Mr. Malhotra has replaced Mr. Roshan for a big-budget film. Sidharth has also stepped into the shoes of Hrithik in the much-talked-about the sequel of Bang Bang. Bang Bang 2 was originally meant to be done by Hrithik as the actor was loved in the first instalment of the action-drama series. But after Hrithik left the film, the makers decided to rope in Sidharth Malhotra as the lead. The movie, which stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the leading lady, has already begun with its first shooting schedule in Miami.

Well, as they say, one man’s loss is another man’s gain. It looks like when Hrithik turns down movie offers, filmmakers head straight to the doorstep of Sidharth Malhotra.

While Sidharth is gearing up for Baar Baar Dekho, Hrithik is busy with the promotional activities of his upcoming period drama, Mohenjo Daro, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
