Popular Indian author, Chetan Bhagat has also made his mark in Bollywood since all of his books have been turned into superhit movies. The author has also appeared on the small screen and has become a household name. Currently, Bhagat is prepping for the release of his latest novel titled One Indian Girl. Even before the release of the book, it has been garnering attention. The latest news is that Queen actress Kangana Ranaut has read the manuscript of the book and would love to be cast as the protagonist when a movie is made on it!
Kangana Will Be Launching The Book
While Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots is said to be inspired from Chetan’s 5 Point Someone, Kai Po Che and 2 States are the official movies based on his books titled 3 Mistakes Of My Life and 2 States respectively. In fact, his last novel, Half Girlfriend is currently being adapted into a movie, by the same name, titled Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor and directed by Mohit Suri.
Apparently, reports say that after completing the book, Ranaut called up Bhagat to express how she loved the story of the urban and modern woman. Chetan, who is currently in New York for the shoot of Half Girlfriend, says that it’s an honour that a talented actress like Kangana has praised his book. Bhagat also revealed that there are a number of elements that Kangana will relate to with the protagonist of the book.
The Actress Relates To The Novel
According to sources, the actress was supposed to fly away to the U.S. in September to shoot for Hansal Mehta’s Simran. But it looks like the actress will postpone that so that she can launch Chetan Bhagat’s book on the 1st of October. Kangana, who will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s much-awaited Rangoon in February 2017, is looking forward to start shooting for Bhagat’s adaptation by the end of next year.
