This year is the season of biopics, to be precise, cricketing sensations. After biopics on the lives of Mohammad Azharuddin and Sachin Tendulkar, it is now time for the inspiring story of Indian skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, to hit the silver screens. The movie, starring Sushant Singh Rajput as the protagonist, is directed by acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey, who is best known for films like Baby, Special 26, and A Wednesday. While the Hindi trailer of the film, garnered unmatchable response from the viewers, the filmmaker is now ready to release the theatrical trailer in Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu.
M.S.Dhoni Biopic In Regional Languages
As per reports, the movie has already been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and is now looking forward to being dubbed in Marathi. An interesting fact here is that this will be the first time that a Hindi biopic will be dubbed in Marathi! At a recent media interaction, Neeraj seemed quite excited about the regional releases of his much-awaited film.
When quizzed about what made him adopt this novel marketing strategy for M. S. Dhoni, he said that regional cinema is currently seeing a boom. Plus, the fact that the Indian captain is loved by the entire nation, irrespective of their languages, made it clearer to him that this needs to reach every Indian. Dhoni’s success story is universal and the love for him is unparalleled, so though the regional audience is quite different from the audience that watches Hindi movies, he is sure that this film will touch everyone.
Three local language releases means a wider target audience, which is what Pandey wants. Interestingly, even Bollywood biggies like Riteish Deshmukh and Priyanka Chopra are foraying into the world of regional cinema as producers.
MS. Dhoni – The Untold Story, which is jointly produced by Arun Pandey and Fox Star Studios, is all set to hit the theatres on the 30th of September.
