Salman Khan is on a professional high these days. After the unmatchable success of his latest hit Sultan, the stardom of Sallu Bhai seems unstoppable. The actor’s Eid 2015 release, Bajrangi Bhaijaan had also topped the box office charts. Soon after its success, director Kabir Khan was quick to announce his upcoming venture with the superstar. The movie is titled Tubelight and Salman was supposed to start shooting for it sometime soon. However, now we hear that the first shooting schedule of the movie, which was supposed to begin in Kashmir, has been delayed because of the unrest in the valley.
Tubelight, helmed by Kabir Khan, is a period drama set across the Indo-Chinese border. Apparently, the story revolves around two brothers. While Salman will be portraying the character of the elder brother, the search for the younger brother was a tedious one for Kabir.
The movie has always been surrounded by a number of controversies. Earlier there were reports that Kabir had roped in Deepika Padukone to play the female lead. However, the actress soon opted out because she felt that her role was overshadowed by Salman’s. She also demanded a script change but the director denied it, following which she exited the film.
The female lead has still not been decided and the movie has already landed in another trouble. As per sources, major portions of the film were going to be shot in Kashmir. The entire crew was supposed to fly to Ladakh on the 25th of July but now the plans have been scrapped by the production unit. Looking at the recent development in Kashmir, they have been advised to put the shoot on hold. The unfortunate part is that no alternate locations have yet been finalised.
Expected Release date of Movie Tubelight
Tubelight was scheduled to release in early part of 2017 but it looks like Salman’s fans will have to wait for some time to see their Bhaijaan on screen.
