This much-talked about biopic is touted to be based on the life of legendary singer-actor, Kishore Kumar. The director had long back stated that he is looking forward to begin the biopic soon. But due to some problems, it had been shelved earlier. Now that Jagga Jasoos is all set to release next year, Basu wants to move ahead with this project in 2017 itself.

However, sources say that Anurag is worried about the fact that Ranbir will not be able to take up any new project in 2017 since he has his calendar full. Next year he will begin shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming movie which is based on Sanjay Dutt’s life. After that he is set to begin filming for Ayan Mukerji’s superhero flick Dragon.

According to the Anurag’s recent official statement, Ranbir has not signed the Kishore Kumar biopic. If the movie goes on floors in 2017, then Basu will have to look for another actor since Kapoor is not available. But if by chance the film is delayed to 2018, then Ranbir will be able to do it.

The script work, director, and producer are ready. In fact, Kishore Kumar’s family is getting restless because of the delay. However, the director wants to begin with another film first, which is going to be the sequel of his superhit film, Life In A Metro.
