The superhit duo of Rajkumar Hirani and Sanjay Dutt have churned out the blockbuster series of Munna Bhai. After Dutt’s release from jail, the director was looking forward to work on two films – one is a biopic based on Sanjay’s life, starring Ranbir Kapoor, and the other is the third instalment of the Munna Bhai series, starring Dutt himself. However, rumours of a split between the director and the actor are now surfacing on social media.
Sanjay Dutt And Rajkumar Hirani Undergoing A Cold War
Reports say that the differences between them stem from two reasons. Firstly, it is being said that Sanju wanted to make his silver screen comeback with Munna Bhai. However, apparently, the director is now keen on completing with his biopic first and then moving on to Munna Bhai. Sources say that Hirani’s choice didn’t go well with the actor since he wants to give more importance to his film instead of his biopic.
Secondly, even the biopic based on Sanjay Dutt’s life is apparently on the verge of getting postponed. The reason of delay is the actor himself. According to gossip mongers, Sanjay Dutt has now developed cold feet about showcasing his life on screen. He fears that he may have revealed a bit too much before Hirani and he wants him to rework on the script, resulting in a delay in the filming. Apparently, Sanjay Dutt has also demanded a share in the profits of the film since the biopic is based on his life. This might not have gone well with Hirani, resulting in a greater rift between the two.
In Sanjay’s biopic, Ranbir will be essaying the role of the protagonist while rumours float that the character of Dutt’s father, legendary actor Sunil Dutt will be portrayed by PK actor Aamir Khan. Aamir has heard the script and liked it too, according to sources. Now only time will tell which movie makes it to the theatre screens first.
