Salman Khan Proves Why He Is India’s Goodwill Ambassador For Rio Olympics

The debate between the two different faces of Salman Khan is an endless one! While the actor has been appreciated for his helpful nature through his Being Human organisation, he has also been criticised because of his unruly behaviour. The actor, who is India’s Goodwill Ambassador for the ongoing Rio Olympics, also received flak a few days ago, when he misspelt the names of athletes on Twitter. However, he has finally proved why he is the rightful person to have represented India. Salman announced that he will be giving away cheques of Rs 1,01,000 to all the athletes who have made India proud at the games!

Also known as the man with the heart of gold, Salman took to Twitter to declare that this is gesture of showing appreciation and recognition for the hard work and efforts put in by the athletes for the sake of their nation. He also went to say that the Government is doing a lot for shaping up the future of sports in India; we too must do our bit. He thanked companies like Edelweiss and Jio for coming forward and supporting the Olympics. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor has constantly supported our contenders right since the time the Olympics began. In fact, a number of Bollywood celebrities have publically congratulated and appreciated the amazing performances by our athletes.

As a matter of fact, Yash Raj Films, headed by Aditya Chopra, has too declared to distribute a cash award of Rs 10 lakh to the athletes who win gold for the nation at the Rio Olympics. The production house recently produced Sultan, starring Salman Khan, which was a sports-based movie, revolving around the life of Haryanvi wrestler Sultan Ali Khan. Interestingly, even in the movie, Salman’s character Sultan wins gold for India at the Olympics. However, our athletes have been unable to grab the gold medal so far.
