P.V.Sindhu is all set to fight for a berth in the finals of the women’s badminton, when she takes on Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. P.V Sindhu went on to start her encounter in the Women’s singles department with a glorious win and ever since then, she has been winning all the matches that she had played in this particular division. The woman shuttler only went from good to better in the court with the passing days. In the quarter finals, Sindhu was up against Wang Yihan of China. She defeated her opponent in straight sets of 2-0.

The women up on the opposite side of the court to Sindhu would be Nozomi Okuhara. Nozomi was up against Akane Yamaguchi, another badminton player from Japan itself. The two women did fight an intense battle in the quarter-finals, however, Nozomi went on to win the quarterfinals with a final score of 2-1 in her favour. She too had passed through the prelims and the round of 16 stages with ease and would be looking forward to gliding to the finals. Sindhu would also be looking forward to reach the finals of the event to guarantee the nation of the first medal of this season.
